  
CT Production has purchased a new automatic conformal coating machine to coat the many products requiring protection against the environment , chemicals or risk from shorting.
The 3 head PVA 654 machine can be used to apply various materials and has spray coat, film coat and needle application methods either vertically or at programmable angles. The machine is faster, more repeatable and more economic in use of material compared to hand spray methods and due to the accuracy it removes need to pre-mask and de-mask no-go areas.
At present, two types of material are used. One is UV cured and the other is air dried. UV material is environmentally friendly and uses a microwave UV conveyor oven for almost instant catalytic curing. Air cured material specified by some customers uses thinners for application, which must ultimately be oven dried and vented to the atmosphere.
